Adap

Adap is a conceptual performance piece that immerses the audience in the ritual of a Turkish meyhane. Layered with a projection from Vesikalı Yarim (1968), it examines shifting power dynamics—between performer and audience, tradition and transformation. As the night unfolds, the entertainer-performer takes the place of the historical meyhane women, turning the audience into active participants. Conversation flows like the drink itself, moving from the everyday to the political, allowing Adap to embody the unspoken customs of shared experience.
